What is Medical education?

Medical education is the education given for being a medical practitioner. The subject deals with the diseases and the curing methods. The education helps one to gain enough money as well as satisfaction of serving the people. There are around 750 Medical Colleges including Government and private colleges providing 65,000 students per year to join in the courses.

What are the courses available in Medical Education?

Bachelor degree, Master’s degree, Post-Doctoral fellowship and Post Graduate diploma are the major programs of the field. These courses are also available in Homoeopathy, Nephrology, Ayurvedic medication. The major courses of the field are:

In MBBS, the students get training on different areas to gain practical and theoretical knowledge. The curriculum includes diagnosis and examination techniques and patient management. The twelve month internship helps the students to understand the practical situations and dealing with the issues.

MD or MS are offered in different disciplines like Peadiatrics, Anatomy and Ophthalmology etc.

When to plan the career?

Class 11 is the crucial part of the student life which turns the career path. One must be completing 10+2 with the subjects Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Regular Bachelor Degree, B.Pharmacy or MBBS are the standing options after 10+2.

For MBBS, the entrance exam conducted by the state government or All India Entrance Examination must be attended. The admission is through the counseling on the basis of the score attained in the entrance exam. Few of the private institutes conduct their own entrance examination and follow their own admission rules. The duration of the course is usually 5 ½ years including the internship.

Those who wish to take Master’s degree, one must choose the specialization. The admission process include entrance exams for all colleges and interview for some of the colleges. The duration of the course is 3 years.

What after the degree in Medical Education?

After completing MBBS, one is eligible for being a general physician. The license from the State Medical Council is required to setup the practice.

One must be ready to work in odd timings and feel the responsibility of the life of the patient. Regularly updating on the advancing technologies in the equipment as well as medication, being patience and maintain emotional balance are the most important aspects of the field.

The opportunities are found in Multi Specialty hospitals, Government and private hospitals, Medical colleges, Army, Air force and Navy, Research institutes and in few other industrial sectors.

Individual practicing or initiating own hospitals are also the common practices.

Even for the other educational courses like nursing, there are several kinds of opportunities are found in hospitals and other charitable institutes.

Pharmacy students can either work in pharmaceutical companies or can have the self employment opportunities like medical shop etc.
