In India, the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh conduct an entrance examination called Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) for the admission of students into medical and engineering colleges. Currently the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) is the organizing authority of this entrance test under the state council of technical education. In order to get admission to various undergraduate professional courses in Andhra Pradesh and Telegana states EAMCET exam has to be cleared. The selected candidates can get their admissions to both government as well as private colleges. Major attraction the candidates feel about EAMCET entrance exam is the faster declaration of results, almost within 14 days after commencement of entrance test. For engineering students the test is done in the morning session and for medical students during the evening session.

Eligibility Criteria for EAMCET Entrance Exam

The prime eligibility criteria required for EAMCET is to be an Indian citizen and belonging to the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The candidates should have cleared the higher secondary exam with the subjects’ Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics Or Biology. The general candidates should acquire 45% marks while reservation candidates need to score 40% as eligibility for EAMCET. The completion of 16 years of age is a must for admission to engineering courses. The candidates should have completed 17 years of age for admission to B Tech courses.

EAMCET Entrance Exam syllabus

The EAMCET exam can be cleared by the deep study of portions from grade 11 and 12. The entrance exam syllabus is the curriculum followed in higher secondary school levels for the subjects’ Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics. The theories and laws should be deeply understood so as to answer application level questions that are commonly asked in the test. Covering of the vast topics deeply requires a good amount of preparation.

How to apply for EAMCET Entrance Exam

The details on how to apply, exam dates, fee structure, and many more will be given on the official website. The only method of submission of EAMCET application is through online mode. The application fee can be paid through both online or offline methods. The amount of Rs500/- is to be paid when applying for both engineering and medical courses. When applying for engineering or medical alone the application fee is Rs 250/- only.

EAMCET Entrance Exam pattern

The EAMCET entrance exam pattern is quite simple. A total of 160 questions are available out of which physics and chemistry has a share of 40 questions each. The rest 80 questions are from mathematics/ biology. For each correct answer candidate can score one mark. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The entrance exam can be written either in English or in Telugu as selected by the candidate while filling the application form. In order to reach the counseling round, the candidate should have scored the minimum required cutoff marks. The cut off marks for each test is decided by EAMCET committee and will only be revealed after the entrance exams. Incomplete documents can lead to dis qualification of a candidate even after a good performance in writing exams and counseling.
