What is Akshaya Tritiya?
Akshaya Tritiya is the festival of Hindu and Jain religion which is also known by the name Akha Teej and usually falls on the lunar day in the month of Viashakha. This festival is considered the most auspicious in Jainism religion. According to Hinduism this day has been considered the beginning of the Treta Yuga along with the river Ganga which is considered the most sacred river of India. This festival is considered the best day to start up any business or project because it is related to success and good luck.

According to Hindu Mythology on this day, creation of work has been started by the Lord Burma. This festival also takes into consideration the birthday of Parashurama who is considered the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. On this great day Lord Ganesha has started writing Epic Mahabharata. The legend is also related to lord Krishna and Sudama story where Sudma the poor friend of Krishna had been to Krishna place to beg for help but he did not took help from him and also gave rice and poha to Krishna. When he returned home he found a change in his hut along with changes in everything. So then Sudama came to know that it was the Krishna who has done all these great things so this day is considered the best day of wealth and prosperity. Most of the people used to begin new projects on this day.

This day is considered the auspicious day as on this day, most of the people used to purchase gold which is the sign of wealth and prosperity. On this great day people used to fixed their weddings and take long journeys. They also used to began new business and do some charitable acts. Most of the people start this festival by dipping into the holy river to proceed for other activities. The other devotees may also offer prayers and puja at temples. People do charity and donation part into the temples.Apart from that people also engaged in planning wedding ceremony on this auspicious day.
