French courses and the career options

The second most spoken language of the world, is native to the country France, but is recognized as an official language in around 29 countries that include Canada, Belgium, Monaco and Switzerland. It is also official language of NATO, the ICRC and the WTO. Bloomberg Business week declared the language as ‘the third most useful languages for business’. The language has around 175 million speakers which include native and non-native speakers around the world.

A dialect named Indian, French which is influenced by local languages like Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, is still popular among settled French people of India.

Courses and the eligibility criteria for French Courses

French is the choice of many students as second language at schooling. Many schools provide the language at high schooling as the language is the third most popular foreign language that is chosen as a second language.

Though the nomenclature of the courses varied from institute to institute, the aim of the courses remains same. Few institutes offer level wise courses and few other as long term and short term courses. Several institutes are offering courses in the language with a specific purpose like French for Banking and Finance, French for Travel and Tourism etc.

  • B.A. (French Language Course) of three years with the eligibility of passing in 10+2 or equivalent
  • M.A. (French) of two years with the eligibility of graduation in the language or equivalent
  • Ph.D. (French Study) of two years with the eligibility of a master’s degree in the language and required score in the conducted entrance test.

  • Diploma in French language
  • Advanced Diploma in French, Language of two years

The basic courses help the non-native speakers to understand and speak the basic sentences of the language and awareness of French culture. The higher courses point on speaking and writing skills of the French language. Ability to converse and confidence of visiting and living in the countries where the French language is spoken are the other specifications of the courses.

Career prospects in French Courses

Educational organizations and institutes, BPO companies, tourism organizations and companies, embassies, importing and exporting companies are few of the fields that offer the employment options.

Learning the language is a good option for the businessmen so that they could establish or expand their business in the French speaking countries or places. Many companies need the language experts to deal with the customers or clients of the language.

Diploma courses are sufficient for the jobs like Customer Relation Executive or the businessmen. The other job roles like instructor or teacher deserve a degree or higher academic qualifications.

Lectureship needs a Master degree in the language along with a passing score in the National Eligibility Test, which also provide a chance of Junior Research Fellowship. The Ph.D. in the language is the criteria for being a professor of the language.

Pay point in French Courses

When the point of pay raises, the one who choose the stream never needs to regret as the payment in all the fields related to the language is handsome. The minimum expected pay is Rs.60,000/- per annum. Few of the occupations get nearly ten lakhs per annum.
