National Institute of Technology of Maharastra is situated in Nagpur. The college is established in the year 1960 as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering. Later it was upgraded as National Institute of Technology and in the year 2007 the college was recognized as Institute of National Importance. The college is named as Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology with the acronym VNIT. The college is recognized as one of the best 15 engineering colleges of India. With the motto ‘Excellence in action is yoga’, the college has produced more than 2,500 undergraduates and around 600 postgraduates till date.
