The judiciary system in India is known for its democratic values and keeping this concept in mind some of the Top Law Colleges in India impart legal education to the students. There are many law colleges in India that are either owned by the government at the center or at the state level. There are many that are privately funded and hence are under the private organizations that manage them.

The eligibility criteria differ from other courses and it is as follows:

  • Need to clear the CLAT or the Common Law Admission Test and it can be taken after the Higher Secondary or the +2 Level at school
  • Certain universities conduct their own admission tests which the students who have passed the Higher Secondary or the +2 level exams can appear for.
  • After the Bachelor’s Degree Course a three year course in LLB can be taken up.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Law is mandatory for the LLM program.
  • Apart from these degree courses there are many other diploma and certification courses that can be taken up for specialized programs.
  • In most cases for the degree course there is no upper age limit, but a minimum age of 17 years is mandatory. Some Top Law Colleges in India colleges and universities require the student to be 20 years of age.
