How to Prepare for MHTCET Entrance Exam 2024


Maharashtra is one of the top preferences, followed by south Indian states as far as medical field is concerned. The availability of about 32 medical colleges with some reputed ones like the Armed forces medical college, Pune add to the value. Out of a strong competition at the point of undergraduate admission, the student has to clear the entrance test conducted by state, MHT-CET. The MHT-CET or popularly known as MH-CET is an entrance examination conducted under the jurisdiction of the government of Maharashtra. This test is conducted annually by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) under the state government for the medical fields. This entrance exam is conducted offline and targeted at selecting students for various medical fields including nursing and pharmacy. The test is regulated by the prime body, the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra.

The Indian nationals, that too residing in the state of Maharashtra are the only eligible candidates for appearing in the MHT-CET exam. They should have attained 17 years of age and should be medically fit at the time of admission. Both these conditions are to be satisfied by giving the required documents. The minimum eligibility to appear for this test is the higher secondary pass with 50%, in science stream with biology as one of the subjects from Maharashtra. By covering the plus two level curriculum for physics, chemistry and biology one will be able to do well in the entrance tests. This does not imply that the test is too easy. Due to tough competition among the candidates, the test is not an easy task to fulfill. In view of stiffer competition, the question predominant in the minds of parents and students is how to prepare for MHT-CET. Starting the exam preparations one year before can yield better results in the MHT-CET. The awareness about the varied topics learned under higher secondary syllabus can be of great help for the entrance tests as application level questions are asked most. The coaching centers have to play a crucial role in organizing the syllabus for the students. The test is of 3 hour duration with 200 multiple choice questions. An important part of exams is the time management that can be easily brought about by practicing previous year papers for several times. These days, many coaching centers are coming up with the idea of crash courses which can motivate aspirants on how to prepare for MHT-CET.

The MHT-CET exam can be applied only through online mode. All the personal details, passport, color photo and the signature of the candidate has to be uploaded as part of online registration. On filling online application, the student has to maintain details like mail id, mobile number and the password that has to be used in all future references. The exam fees has to be paid via any of the branches of the State Bank of India.
