About BHU PMT Entrance Exam

Basically the medical entrance examination is conducted in two stages and they are the PMT – Screening and the PMT – Main which is conducted for the MBBS and the BDS programs. BHU PMT Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria

The Eligibility Criteria is as follows

  • Should have completed the 10+ 2 Course with a minimum of 50 % marks in the aggregate (40% for SC/ST).
  • Should have studied Physics, Chemistry, biology and English as subjects in the qualifying course.
  • Should not be less than 17 years of age and not above 25 years of age.

BHU PMT Entrance Exam Syllabus

There are no standardized Entrance Exam Syllabus and the question paper is based on the syllabus of the Higher Secondary or the 10+2 Science subject.

How to apply for BHU PMT Entrance Exam

Application for the BHU PMT can be made on the prescribed application form available in the office of the university. An application fee of Rs.1000 (General / OBC Category), Rs.600/- (for physically challenged / SC/ST ) Online applications can also be made through the website of the university.

BHU PMT Entrance Exam Pattern

The BHU-PMT Screening examination is conducted on a single paper that consists of about 200 questions which are objective type and are of 2 marks each. Negative marking at the rate of 1 mark per incorrect answer calculated. Each of the subjects in Science, namely, Physics, Chemistry have 50 questions each and Biology has 100 questions made up of 50 questions each in Botany and Zoology. Each of the four subjects is of 100 marks

The BHU-PMT Main examination is similar to the Screening examination in the pattern of the question paper. English is the medium of examination for all the papers. The marking system is also similar to that of the Screening test. The only difference is that the Main paper is divided into 2 sections A and B. Both sections are made up of 100 questions divided equally into physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each of the groups has 25 questions and all are set in the Multiple Choice Pattern.
