All India Entrance Exam for Design (AIEED) is conducted by ARCH Academy of Design. The exam is conducted as entrance exam for the designing courses in Under Graduate Level and Post Graduate level. Programs offered in Under Gradual Level are Fashion Design, Interior Design, Jewellery Design, Graphic Design, Craft Product Design, Design Management and Bachelor of Visual Arts. Programs offered in Post Graduate level are Fashion Design, GPEM, Interior Design, Jewellery Design, Life style Accessory Design, Design Communication, Strategic Design Management and Strategic Management & Leadership.
The eligibility for Undergraduate Level is 10+2 from recognized board or equivalent. The students those who have appeared and those who have cleared are eligible for appearing the entrance exam. The students who cleared 10+1 are also eligible to appear AIEED, but the admission for the qualified students will be interviewed after 10+2 to get admitted.
Graduation in any discipline from any of the recognized university is the eligibility for Post Graduate Level. Students those who are appearing for the graduation examination are also eligible.
The application form and the prospectus can be downloaded from the websites paying the amount or can be purchased from the centre at Jaipur, directly or sending the DD; or from selected branches of State Bank of India . Online registration or submitting the form through post - are accepted.
The exam is conducted in two series. Both the series are conducted in two modes. Online and centre Based. Students can attend the online mode exam from any computer, either from home or from cyber café. The students are provided with optional timings and they must choose 3 options in order of preference and appear for the exam during the chosen time on the allotted date. Candidates those who wish to write centre based examination are provided 13 cities to choose any three of them in order of preference.
Series-I online examination is conducted between December and February; and centre based examination is held in the month of February. Series –II online examination is conducted between April and June; and the centre based examination is held in the month of June.
The examination aims to test and assess the problem solving skills, design sensitivity, logical reasoning, creative skills and general knowledge. With the total marks of 200, 45 to 50 questions would be questioned. The questions are available in bilingual (English and Hindi) for both online and offline examinations. But the online examination must be answered in English only, where as offline exam is allowed to be answered in English or Hindi.
Creative Ability Test and General Ability Test are the types of the papers in the exam.
The interview is conducted for the qualified candidates to complete the admission procedure. The interviews are conducted in Jaipur, at ARCH campus. The candidates need to carry the following documents for the interview.
- 4 passport size photos
- Original mark sheets of 10th, 12th (and graduation for Post graduate level)
- Caste certificate (in case of SC/ST)
- Medical fitness certificate
- Portfolio – the Collection of any creative work, related to hobbies and abilities, by the candidate (like poetry, photography, feature writing, paintings etc.)
